The release of "Kahati Mo Ako" follows his recent single “Unexpectedly” and "Bilog Ang Mundo”, currently available on digital stores too.

 

Tender, sensitive and unyielding, "Kahati Mo Ako” is an offer of love to a defeated heart that is yearning for an uplift. Written and composed by Port Mallillin - the son of the late Jun Mallillin from Abrakadabra band and composer of “Dahil Mahal Kita” by The Boyfriends - ”Kahati Mo Ako” arrives alongside a talented arranger Ritchie Ramos, who was a regular sessionist for Gary Valenciano. During the giddy heights of the lockdown, the track vocals were recorded at a home studio with his brother Mylo, also a fellow band member with The Draybers. “Yung galing na lang ng tenga magkakatalo, kase pwede mo na gawin lahat sa bahay yung mga ginagawa dati sa recording studio”, added Mitoy. 

 

It is a remarkable journey from being first discovered at Eat Bulaga’s singing competition “Ikaw at Echo” in the 1990s and ultimately claiming the grand title in the first season of The Voice of the Philippines under coach Lea Salonga’s wing. Mitoy is presently in a panel of judges and mentors at TV5 talent search, PoPinoy, joined with actress Maja Salvador and R&B artist Jay-R. 

 

The pandemic has been a challenging time for every musician in the country, but this did not stop Mitoy from making music. He says, “Ang musikong Pilipino ay sanay sa ups and downs yan, minsan nga mas lamang pa yung downs kaysa ups, kaya I am sure makakabawi ang mga Pinoy musikero”.
